    • AltaGas (OTCPK:ATGFF +1.5%) says it plans to build Canada’s first terminal to export propane gas, and has signed agreements with a government-owned port on Ridley Island at the northern coast of British Columbia to develop and operate the facility.
    • AltaGas estimates the project, which it expects will ship up to 1.2M metric tons/year of propane starting in 2018, will cost up to C$500M (US$343M); it will construct the project on the site which has existing rail line connections and a marine jetty with deepwater access to the Pacific Ocean.
    • AltaGas owns or has an interest in six large natural gas processing facilities in B.C. and Alberta that produce propane, and operates a similar propane export facility in Ferndale, Wash.
