The SEC seeks permission to add charges to its complaint against Bank of America (BAC), saying the bank held off on disclosing "extraordinary losses" at Merrill Lynch in the weeks before shareholders voted on taking it over. The losses made up more than a third of the merger value, SEC says, but BofA kept shareholders "in the dark."

New York AG Andrew Cuomo sent letters to eight TARP-covered Wall Street banks and companies (BAC, BK, C, GS, JPM, MS, STT, WFC), requesting details on their bonus and compensation plans - saying pay should be "based on incentives that build strong institutions, not built on incentives that bring the nation to its knees economically and are based on short-term, fictional profits."
