    Educational software developer Blackboard (BBBB) agrees to be acquired for $45/share ($1.64B plus $130M in debt) by Providence Equity Partners, a 21% premium to when Blackboard said it was exploring a sale on April 18. Shares closed Thursday -0.6% to $43.39, but surged 12.8% AH to $48.93 on speculation of a deal. (PR)

    Buyout firm Providence Equity Partners is in exclusive talks to buy educational software company Blackboard (BBBB), and a deal could be announced as early as next week, WSJ reports. Blackboard reportedly has sought more than 12x Ebitda, or ~$1.5B. BBBB +6.9% premarket.
