    Quick service restaurants continue to play catch-up with leaders Chipotle (CMG) and Panera Bread (PNRA) as they try to subtly shift from "fast food" to "fast casual" and steal customers from sit-down alternatives. After McDonald's (MCD) set the bar high with premium coffee, smoothies, and reworked restaurants with HD TVs - nearly every chain has set in motion a modernization plan of its own.

    Shares of Benihana (BNHN) come off a trading halt to move up 21.3% premarket after receiving a go-private offer from Angelo, Gordon & Co. Following P.F. Chang's China Bisto own rocket ride after going private earlier this month, a number of other similar-sized restaurant sector names could be on watch. KONA, CHUX, BHRI, TXRH, CASA.

    S&P announces that Vasco Data Security International (VDSI) will replace O'Charley's (CHUX) in the S&P SmallCap 600 Index after the end of the trading day on April 2. Shares of VDSI +3.4% premarket.

    Fidelity National Financial (FNF) agrees to acquire all outstanding common stock of dining chain O'Charley's (CHUX) it does not currently own for $9.85/share in cash. FNF owns a 9.5% stake in CHUX, which operates more than 340 full-service restaurants under the O'Charley's, Ninety Nine and Stoney River concepts. CHUX shares halted.

    Casual-dining chain O'Charley's (CHUX +1%) stages a nice turnaround after an -11% dip early in the day. The company posted a wider-than-expected Q2 EPS loss, but revenue beat estimates. Following a brief selloff at the open, the stock has bounced back and continues to drift higher.
