    Corelogic (CLGX) agrees to acquire two units from Decision Insight Information Group for $661M in a move that expands the former's property and casualty insurance business. The real-estate data-analytics firm is acquiring Marshall & Swift/Boeckh, a provider of residential and commercial property valuation services, and DataQuick Information Systems, which offers analytics information. Corelogic expects the deals to add to its 2013 results. (PR)

    Highfields, one of CoreLogic's (CLGX) largest shareholders, criticizes the data and analytics firm for ending its strategic review and says it's seeking a leadership change. Highfields described the move, announced yesterday with CoreLogic's Q4 results, as "troubling in light of the company's long history of financial and operational missteps."

    First American Financial (FAF +7.5%) says it will no longer pursue an acquisition of CoreLogic (CLGX +0.1%), according to an SEC filing. FAF had suggested CLGX sell certain non-core businesses, which it offered to purchase, and said it could purchase the company if the real estate processor and data service provider deemed it best to sell itself entirely.

    CoreLogic's (CLGX +5.1%) largest shareholder is concerned with the timing of its strategic review, and asks management to consider alternatives to selling the entire firm, according to an SEC filing. First American Financial (FAF +0.2%), which spun off CLGX in 2010 and remains its largest shareholder, suggests it sell certain non-core businesses, which it offers to purchase.
