Chevron has requested authority to ship up to 72B cubic feet back out from its Sabine Pass, La., terminal to higher-paying markets over a two-year period.

    Pemex, the largest oil producer in Latin America, expects to call on Exxon Mobil (XOM), Shell (RDS.A) and Chevron (CVX) for the first time to help explore the Gulf of Mexico. Pemex says it has four E&P contracts to offer as early as September, and three more by year's end.

But the long lag time in developing these resources will prompt China to import "significant additional volumes of LNG," good news for Chevron (CVX) and BG Group (BRGYY.PK), which are developing LNG projects in Australia.
