"U.S. natural gas market fundamentals have already undergone substantial structural realignment needed to balance the market," FBR says.

    Devon Energy (DVN) is initiated with an Outperform rating and $74 price target by Credit Suisse, which expects structural logistical upgrades, further evidence of DVN's capital efficient model and improving gas sentiment in 2013. The firm also starts Denbury Resources (DNR) and Plains Exploration (PXP) at Neutral with respective $18.50 and $45 price targets.

    Devon Energy (DVN +2.7%) closes on its JV agreement with Sumitomo in which the Japanese investment firm will invest $1.4B in exchange for 30% of DVN's interest in its projects on 650K acres of Texas energy fields. Sumitomo has invested $410M thus far and will invest the remaining $980M in payments for DVN's drilling costs.

Oakmark's Bill Nygren, part of the Morningstar group, estimates the stock now trades at just over half its 2013 asset value.

CMLP also says it will acquire certain Barnett Shale assets from Devon Energy (DVN) for $90M.
