    • Communications firm 8x8 (NASDAQ:EGHT) is up 2.3% in its second straight solid post-earnings gain, following on an initiation by Summit Research at a Buy rating.
    • The firm set a price target of $16, representing 25% upside from current price of $12.78. The company's "uniquely positioned" to take share from bigger competitors in an unified communications market estimated at $12B globally, Summit says.
    • "We see the company riding a multi-year trend, projected at 25% CAGR, that is still in the early stages," says Summit's Jonathan Kees. "Possibly considered a speculative investment due to its recent lack of GAAP profitability and cash burn, EGHT is investing for the future and already showing returns. Our concerns would center on increasing competition potentially slowing returns from scale and profitability, and increasing opex costs."
    • Meanwhile, B. Riley has reiterated its Neutral rating and $9.75 price target.

    • The stock opened 22% higher, and it's seeing positive analyst reactions to its quarter. Barclays has raised its price target (slightly) to $12, from $11. That new target implied 7.5% upside from yesterday's closing price, which means shares have eclipsed it today.
    • Meanwhile, Needham & Co. reiterated its Buy rating and $14 target. "Notably, bookings were impressive even despite no new mega deals signed in the quarter, which suggests broad-based strength across multiple channels (SMB team, Midmarket/Enterprise team, Channel)," says analyst Michael Huang. "MRR growth, improving large customer referenceability, accelerated deployment capabilities and an expanding midmarket/enterprise/channel pipeline suggest accelerated service revenue growth rates and continued premium MRR growth rates ahead."
