    • Eros Now, on-demand entertainment platform of Eros International Plc (NYSE:EROS) announced a distribution partnership with Vodafone India, one of India’s leading telecom service providers, for integration with Vodafone Play.
    • This partnership will enable users of Vodafone Play to gain access to Eros Now’s premium Bollywood content offering thousands of new and classic Bollywood movies including its latest blockbusters.
    • Speaking on the collaboration, Rishika Lulla Singh, CEO Eros Digital said, “An important part of our digital strategy is to be platform-agnostic and we are delighted to partner with Vodafone, a leading player in its space.     • Eros International (EROS -2.4%) has set a strategic deal with Central Partnership -- a Russian film distributor/producer that's an affiliate of Gazprom Media Holding.
    • The two will promote and distribute the Indian films that are Eros' specialty along with Russian content across multiple platforms in both countries.
    • As part of the arrangement, CP will dub Eros' films in Russian language, which Eros can use to reach out to a wider audience for its streaming service Eros Now.
    • CP will work to showcase Eros Now on-demand content on its RUFORM network through Rutube.

    • Indian-film firm Eros International (NYSE:EROS) is down 1.9% today following a surprise loss in its fiscal Q2 earnings report as it worked through a lighter slate.
    • Revenues slipped 27% and operating profit fell 79% to $5.5M. Meanwhile, net income swung to a $1.4M loss from a year-ago $11M profit.
    • The company had only two high-budget films in the quarter, vs. three a year ago (and one of which was its highest-grossing film for the fiscal year, Bajrangi Bhaijaan.)
    • Eros Now, its on-demand video service, has hit 55M registered users and 1.32M paid subscribers. With its having hit the years' target of 1M paid subscribers early, in Q1, the company is still pushing for 2M paid subs by the end of fiscal 2017.

    • India-focused film company Eros International (NYSE:EROS) says it's raised $30M from two of its existing top-10 institutional shareholders.
    • The company will put proceeds into further expansion of its Eros Now on-demand video service -- which the company says is well ahead of schedule on targets, hitting more than 1.1M paid users in fiscal Q1 (a goal it had set for the entire fiscal year).
    • "Our ownership of content and our strong balance sheet should provide tailwinds to grow the Eros Now subscriber base from 1M to 10M and eventually 100M within the next decade," says group CEO Jyoti Deshpande.
    • The company has a market cap of about $943M.

    • Eros International (NYSE:EROS) is up 6.2% premarket after reporting fiscal Q1 earnings where it missed expectations but saw faster uptake of its paid on-demand video service.
    • Operating profit grew 75.6% and adjusted EBITDA of $18.1M was up 56%.
    • Eros Now, its on-demand video service, crossed 49.6M registered users and more than 1.1M paid users, a target it had set for the entire fiscal year.
    • Free cash flow rose to $1.9M from -$13.1M for the quarter ended June 30.
    • Having surpassed a fiscal 2017 target of 1M paying Eros Now subscribers early, it's now targeting 2M paid subs by the end of fiscal 2017, and 5M paid subs by the end of fiscal 2018. It has a five-year target of 15-20M subs worldwide with blended annual ARPU of $5 from India and $30 internationally.

    • The eBuzz content, featuring Bollywood news and interviews, joins the Eros Now service, which launched on Apple TV in June.
    • The Eros Now service, boasting 44M registered users, offers an on-demand library of Bollywood movies and television shows along with music videos and audio tracks. The company said in June that it was on the way to hit 1M paying subscribers by the end of fiscal 2017.

    • The company's over-the-top platform Eros Now will power Jio On Demand, Jio's entertainment offering.
    • Jio customers get access to thousands of movies, while Eros Now gets a line into new subscribers in urban and rural areas alike.
    • Eros Now has more than 44M registered users and is targeting 1M paying subscribers by the end of fiscal 2017. It costs 49 rupees (about $0.73) per month for streaming and 99 rupees (about $1.47) for a higher-end subscription with more features.

    • Indian film studio Eros International (NYSE:EROS) is up 3.4% now after its Q4 revenues came in well ahead of expectations.
    • EBITDA fell 52% as well, to $14.4M, but beat an expected $13.3M.
    • Its Eros Now service has more than 44M registered users vs. a year-ago 19M. The company says it's well on its way to hit 1M paying subscribers by the end of fiscal 2017. New two-tier premium pricing (of 49 rupees and 99 rupees per month -- about $0.75/month and $1.51/month respectively) is gaining traction.
    • For fiscal 2016, the company released six high-budget pictures, 16 medium-budget, and 41 low-budget for 63 total. Eros plans to release seven high-budget films in fiscal 2017.
