    • W.R. Grace (GRA +9.9%) says it will split into two companies to improve strategic focus, simplify operating structures and provide more efficient capital allocation.
    • GRA says one company, which is likely to have sales of ~$1.8B, will consist of its businesses that make products used in the refining, petrochemical, personal care and tire and rubber industries; the other will consist of GRA's specialty construction chemicals and specialty building materials unit, and have sales of ~$1.5B.

    W.R. Grace (GRA -2.3%) slips today after slashing its earnings view for the year and saying that Q1 preliminary earnings would come in below Street expectations, as the specialty chemical company reels from a weak environment in Europe. For Q1, the company expects its EPS to come in between $0.80 - $0.81. Analysts were looking for an EPS of $0.88. For the current year, it now expects revenue to be around $665M to $685M, down from its prior view of $685M to $ 705M.

    W.R. Grace (GRA +10.2%) reports adjusted Q2 EPS of $1.14 vs. $1.08 analyst consensus, with revenues flat Y/Y at $827M, pulled down by costs related to an asbestos settlement and its ongoing restructuring under bankruptcy protection. GRA expects 2012 sales at $3.1B-$3.2B vs. $3.23B consensus.
