    Mediware (MEDW) says that 2012 versions of the company's core blood management software products have received updated 510(k) clearance by the FDA. The software systems are used by more than 500 hospital and blood center facilities in the U.S., Canada, Ireland, and Singapore and were also selected by the US Department of Defense to support blood management in its military health facilities worldwide.

    Mediware (MEDW +2.3%) gains after announcing it's acquired the assets of Indianapolis-based Strategic Healthcare Group, a provider of blood management consulting, education and informatics solutions. Mediware expects to close on the transaction within 60 days and plans to maintain the Strategic Healthcare Group brand.
