    • Materion (MTRN -8.7%) issues downside guidance for Q3, seeing EPS of ~$0.20 vs. $0.39 consensus estimate, and says shipments of certain high-margin beryllium-based defense and nuclear science as well as defense optics orders have been delayed.
    • MTRN also issues guidance for Q4, seeing EPS well ahead of Q3 and the strongest of the year, exceeding Q2's $0.43.
    • MTRN plans to take additional facility and product line rationalization actions during Q4, which will result in a charge of up to $0.15/share but should favorably impact 2014 performance by up to $0.30/share.
