Shares of Primo Water (PRMW -25.9%) are getting clobbered today, despite posting a Q2 report that was largely in-line with estimates. Total revenue jumped 20% Y/Y, driven by higher sales of its water dispenser units. However, the company says it's seeing slower than anticipated growth in its flavorstation business, and lowers numbers for both Q3 and FY12. It also says its planning a strategic review that may include selling the flavorstation business altogether.

Deutsche Bank is coming to Sodastream (SODA -8.2%) defense, as the arrival of new competition from Primo Water (PRMW +7.2%) pummels shares. Deutsche believes there's currently room for just one player in the home soda machine market, and Sodastream's offerings are "reasonably entrenched."

Home soda machine maker Sodastream (SODA -6.3%) is selling off on strong volume. Herb Greenberg claims the decline is due to Primo Water's (PRMW +2.2%) introduction of a rival product - no PR has been issued, but a website for Primo's soda machine is up.
