    • Although he will stay on as chairman, Suzuki Motors' (OTCPK:SZKMY) Osamu Suzuki is stepping down as CEO over the automaker's use of an improper mileage testing method that wasn't approved by Japanese regulators.
    • "I apologize once again for the trouble we caused," he said.
    • Suzuki Executive Vice President Osamu Honda will also resign to take responsibility for the scandal.

    • The mileage cheating scandal in Japan has spread to Suzuki Motor (OTCPK:SZKMY), sending its shares down as much as 15% to their lowest level since November 2013.
    • Although the fuel-economy testing methods were not compliant with regulations on about 2.3M vehicles sold locally, the automaker won't need to revise the ratings since the results can fall within an acceptable range of deviation.
    • Suzuki specializes in mini-vehicles, which get preferential tax treatment under Japanese law.

    • The new forecast calls for 8% growth for the year beginning in April. The previous outlook was for double-digit growth.

    • The London Court of International Arbitration has ordered Volkswagen (OTCQX:VLKAY) to sell its nearly 20% stake in Suzuki Motor (OTCPK:SZKMY), settling a four-year dispute between the automakers over their failed partnership. Suzuki said it will buy back the holdings.
    • The two companies agreed to tie up in December 2009, pledging to cooperate on technology and expand in the emerging markets, but the relationship went sour not long after the deal went into effect.
