    DirecTV (DTV) reaches an agreement to resume carrying Tribune (TRBCQ.PK) TV stations. "It's unfortunate that Tribune was willing to hold our customers hostage in an attempt to extract excessive rates, but in the end we reached a fair deal at market rates similar to what we originally agreed to on March 29."

    DirecTV (DTV) subscribers in 19 markets, including New York and Chicago, last night lost satellite access to Tribune (TRBCQ.PK) TV stations after the firms failed to renew a content deal. This was despite DirecTV saying they had reached an agreement, only for Tribune to say they hadn't. Affected programs include  "American Idol" and Major League Baseball.

    Tribune Co. (TRBCQ.PK) is slowly moving closer to an exit from bankruptcy, after filing a reorganization plan backed by its leading creditors late yesterday. CEO Randy Michaels had resigned just hours earlier, making room for new leadership to manage the company's second chance.

    Former Disney (DIS) CEO Michael Eisner is in talks that could place him as chairman of the Tribune Co. (TRBCQ.PK), LA Times reports. Tribune’s largest creditors are holding preliminary discussions with prospective candidates to replace Sam Zell once the media company emerges from bankruptcy.

    Bankrupt Tribune Co. (TRBCQ.PK) will provide bondholders with documents related to its leveraged buyout by Sam Zell in 2007, heading off a court hearing. The bondholders have said the buyout may have been a fraudulent conveyance and that "unsustainable debt" sunk the media company.
