VeriSign's (VRSN) cancellation of an appearance at a Citigroup tech conference yesterday and another cancellation next week probably have more to do with its CEO search, but they're sparking another day of takeover rumors, buttressed by a note from ThinkEquity. VRSN shares, which rallied 6.8% yesterday, +7.2% today.

Oppenheimer & Co. cuts its rating on Verisign (VRSN +0.1%) to Perform from Outperform. The stock is too rich, trading at 25 times 2011 estimated EPS, and already reflects potential catalysts. After a special dividend is paid on Dec. 20, many investors will sell, claims Oppenheimer.
