  • May 7 Abbott Labs (ABT -0.1%) reaches an $800M settlement with the government to resolve all outstanding issues regarding an investigation of past sales and marketing practices relating to its neurologic medication Depakote. The settlement stems from a four-year-old investigation into past sales activities, dating as far back as 1998. Additionally, the pharmaceutical giant says it will split into two separately traded companies.
