- Tuesday, May 14, 1:29 PM Actavis (ACT +1.2%) spikes on reports that the company recently turned away a $15B bid from Mylan (MYL +0.1%). Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move, M&A]
- Monday, May 13, 3:01 PM Buckingham joins in on the Warner Chilcott (WCRX +6%)/Activis (ACT -0.3%) lovefest, upping its price target on Warner to $24, adding that it sees the potential for a debt-financing deal as high as $30 per share for the company. Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move]

- Friday, May 10, 12:40 PM More on Actavis (ACT +6.1%) / Warner Chilcott (WCRX +12.3%): The news comes just weeks after ACT broke off merger talks with Valeant Pharmaceuticals (VRX +0.5%) after balking at the premium it was offered. Now, considering the strength of ACT's recent Q1 report, that deal looks dead. Warner, on the other hand, had disclosed over a year ago that it was pursuing a sale. Comment! [Healthcare, M&A, On the Move]
- Friday, May 10, 12:17 PM Shares of Actavis (ACT +3%) spike higher on reports the company is in early-stage talks to acquire Warner Chilcott (WCRX +9.5%). Comment! [Healthcare, M&A, On the Move]
- Monday, April 29, 10:50 AM Although it's a long shot, Goldman's Jami Rubin sees potential synergies in an Actavis (ACT +4%) merger with Valeant (VRX +3.7%). Rubin commented this morning on the activity over the weekend: "While we do not take a view on the likelihood of a transaction being consummated, in our view a potential combined entity would have compelling strategic merit, although we would be surprised by both the timing and the specific combination of companies for various reasons." Comment! [On the Move, M&A, Healthcare]
- Friday, April 26, 12:07 PM Another day, another patent litigation settlement for Actavis (ACT +2.3%). The company says it has reached an agreement with Purdue Pharmaceuticals under which ACT will be licensed to sell "a specific number of bottles of generic OxyContin" beginning early next year assuming the company obtains FDA approval. The deal could potentially mean $100M in gross profits for ACT in 2014 and 2015. (PR) Comment! [On the Move, Healthcare]
- Thursday, April 25, 12:13 PM Actavis (ACT +1%) reaches a settlement with Shire (SHPG +1.6%) regarding an outstanding patent litigation related to ACT's generic version of Intuniv, a treatment for ADHD. Under the terms of the settlement, ACT can launch its generic version of Intuniv on December 1, 2014, or earlier under certain circumstances. - Monday, June 25, 2012, 2:04 PM The FDA's approval of Actavis' generic Adderall XR will be a positive for Watson Pharmaceuticals (WPI +1%), which is acquiring the company, says Goldman. The firm says the news supports its above consensus earnings estimates, adding that it sees only modest impact to TEVA and IPXL. Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Monday, June 25, 2012, 9:29 AM Shares of drug maker Shire (SHPGY, SHPGF.PK) -13% in London trading on news the FDA approved a generic version of its attention-deficit and hyperactivity drug Adderall XR. Watson Pharma's (WPI) newly acquired Actavis division obtained an abbreviated new-drug application for the generic. SHPGY -12.2%, WPU +1.9% premarket. Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Tuesday, June 19, 2012, 3:20 PM Watson Pharmaceuticals (WPI +1.8%) gains after being upgraded to Conviction Buy on valuation at Goldman, citing its premium growth and likely tentative approval for Lidoderm. The firm keeps its price target at $87. Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move]
