Autodesk argues Firehole helps address the need for new simulation tech predict/optimize the performance of more complex materials. Is Autodesk (ADSK +1.7%) a commercial real estate construction play? Jefferies has joined Goldman in arguing as much. Upgrading the CAD software leader to Buy, Jefferies touts Autodesk's high sales correlation to the "non-residential real estate cycle," as well as the strong positioning of its Building Information Modeling software. Last week, Goldman said it's encouraged by a January jump in the Architecture Billings Index to 54.2, its highest reading since Nov. '07. (FQ4 results/guidance: I, II)
