I agree with Slim!!! Reply7 Chinese Companies with Dubious Auditors [view article]
That is old news. Anyone who is doing DD on any of these companies is already aware that most if not all have addressed their auditing questions. For example, a year ago, CKGT has delayed their revenue recognition to be very conservative (rev not accounted for until their customer's customer has sold the products). This is overly conservative in my view and they have actually carried out more sales than is currently being listed on the balance sheet. A whole new set of updated SEC documents based on this conservative revenue recongnition policy had been published last year and the company is growing strongly. Did you put your own money in ? ReplyMatt Callow's 2008 Investment Themes: So Far, So Good [view article]
Your themes 2, 3, and 4 are currency vehicles -- I find I would not be able to compete with professionals on FX dealings. Ditto for 8, which, I was told, was (when I tried to do, 2 or 3 months ago) open only to professionals. Thus, one is left with only themes 1, 5, 6, and 7 -- and your gain for the week would be rather modest: -1.18% + 7.9% - 2.53% = 4.19% or 1.4% on average for the 3 themes (excluding gold, since you took no position). Still, my congratulations.4 Reply

Thanks Matt. I am trying to educate myself on being proactive in a bear market. Reply8 Key Investment Themes for 2008 [view article]
It is grammatically incorrect to state that "the Yen cannot afford to cut... and may actually raise rates towards the end of 2008". You mean the BoJ of course!!! Reply
