    • The price of milk rose to an all-time high yesterday on the back of strong demand from global buyers.
    • A tough winter in the U.S. has also curtailed production tallies.
    • Most of the additional milk costs are being passed on to consumers, according to data from the USDA. Milk prices rose 27% Y/Y in February.
    • Analysts are split on how much wiggle room companies have to boost prices higher with consumers before hitting stiff resistance.

    Feihe International (ADY +8%) jets higher after the company receives a $7.40-a-share going private offer from CEO You-Bin Leng in tandem with a Morgan Stanley affiliate. The investors propose buying the company through an acquisition vehicle to be financed from cash and debt.

    Feihe International (ADY -5.9%) shares swoon, attributed to a Seeking Alpha blog offering "900,000 reasons to sell," representing the volume of consumer complaints and lawsuits around the Chinese producer of dairy products. Years of "asymmetric information" has allowed ADY "to mislead U.S. investors while its tainted products are heavily denounced by Chinese consumer groups," the article says.

    After cruising to a huge gain yesterday off of its strong Q1 report, Feihe International (ADY -20.1%) falls almost all the way back down on frenzied momentum trading not tied to any particular news out from the Chinese milk powder producer.
