Credit Suisse Analyst: Abercrombie Leads Rival American Eagle [view article]
After taking a position in AEO, buying in (when the insiders were making acquisitions @ $22.00), we wisely dumped the stock at $ 15.25 - $ 16. After this experience following the lead of the insiders, it proved they didn't, they don't, and they won't know how to lead the company to improvement and make money for stockholders. Stay away from purchasing stock in this company whatever the cost, even below today's price of $10.85. ReplyAmerican Eagle: Down, or Cheap? [view article]
I still shop at AE. Not as much as I used to because cash is tight for everyone but if I am shopping it is AE. People are spending money at McDonalds because it's dirt cheap food. That one should have been obvious! ReplyReplacement Candidates for David Merkel's Portfolio: From AA to ZZ [view article]

As a marketing student, this article has provided me with lots of information, good job... ReplyAmerican Eagle: Down, or Cheap? [view article]
After it was announced that insiders were buying this stock in October, 2007, the stock value declined from $24 to present levels @ $14. What does this say about the officers and directors in this rather closed corporation in terms of macro-management? ReplyAmerican Eagle: Down, or Cheap? [view article]
American eagle is a great company and great stock. It is the most popular line for teens, and is opening a young kids department online this christmas, and building stores in 2010. AEO is very attractve at this price and I would be buyin it up. ReplyAmerican Eagle: Down, or Cheap? [view article]
GKM......I would really hate to use your tech skills. Based on it chart, that would put every retail company "going out of business" you're a moron... ReplyAmerican Eagle: Down, or Cheap? [view article]
Opps! Wrong forum! My apologies! ReplyAmerican Eagle: Down, or Cheap? [view article]
Why print this??? We can't even purchase "gold" anymore... the purchase prices are skyrocketing to the spots... rip offs, and a shortage... so, "where's the beef?" ReplyAmerican Eagle: Down, or Cheap? [view article]
To me - based on the chart - it looks like AEO is going out of business at some point or at least back to a penny stock. There will be pops along the way but they will be opportunities to sell. ReplyBrochstein

My daughter loves Justice, as do all of her friends. While TWB is cheap by any number of measures, I find that investors rarely invest in front of changes like this but rather after some signs of success are apparent. While investors should laud corporate decisions to boost margins by focusing on the more profitable and/or better business, they get hung up on the sales comparisons. So, the time to buy TWB will most likely be 1 or 2 quarters before they report their first year-over-year sales increase... ReplyJacome

I dont know this company at all, but are you not worried about those uninspiring EBIT margin trends from 2005-2007? ReplyAmerican Eagle Outfitters: Impressive Company, Tough Market [view article]
This stock has fallen from the radar screen. Insiders were buying in the mid/low $20's. Analysts have abandoned it for poor performance. Management is in a shakeup. There is no basis of fact that the company can move the stock price. Because it has fallen out of favor, the money managers won't touch it. What mutual funds own it that are above water? Stay away from this one, there are better fish in the ocean.Reply
