Monday, April 22, 3:42 PM Judge Richard Kramer drops Moody's (MCO +0.2%) and Fitch from a lawsuit against Ambac (ABKFQ.PK +6.7%), after the plaintiff's lawyer says claims against the two ratings agencies "have been resolved." Several cities and counties filed suit against Ambac in 2008 alleging a conspiracy to compel municipalities to purchase unnecessary insurance. Comment!

Among the creditors are Ambac and a unit of MBIA (MBI). The precedent-setting case will have major implications for the way bondholders and insurers are treated in a municipal bankruptcy. If Calpers loses - good for creditors.
