Friday, May 3, 5:43 PM An FDA panel has voted 17-1 that Amgen's (AMGN) blood-boosting drugs would benefit radiation survivors in the event of a nuclear attack. The drugs, known as Leukocyte growth factor drugs, are normally given to cancer patients to combat the effects of chemotherapy. The panel observed monkeys exposed to radiation, and those given AMGN's Neupogen showed a greater likelihood of survival, and the FDA says it's likely to provide the same benefit to people as well. Net profit rose 21% Y/Y, due largely to a significantly lower tax rate, but the better number fails to mask disappointing sales, especially of its key arthritis drug Enbrel. freefdawatchlist: don't buy more, because if fda delay it by 3 month, the stock may drop. Check out other stock which haven't rallied up till now.
