ALIBABA.COM v/s TOOTOO.COM????? TOOTOO.COM is better then GSOL.COM according to report( Posted somewhere). TOOTOO.COM could be buy out target by GOOGLE, MSFT????/IS it possible????Yes, Yes...It can be IPO? I dont know but if ALIBABA worth 50 dollar then TOOTOO.COM worth at least half of ALIBABA. NEATEASE ceo bought 3 million shares of NINE. TOOTOO.COM owns by NINE. ReplyFive Large Cap Short Ideas [view article]
It can only happen if there's another credit crunch- induced market correction or some external events that bring down the whole market like 911, sorry to have to say that one. ReplyFive Large Cap Short Ideas [view article]
Well, Mr. Jones can't answer that one.....Shorting these tech. leaders like Rimm, Aapl and Goog is like playing Bacarrat in Las Vegas casinos. Good luck. I can see Amzn being shorted even before this week earnings release.
But not the other 3. They are just too strong fundamentally. Maybe in early 2008. Reply

AMZN will trade the way AMZN always does... the desks will give it a few days to settle and let the institutions blow out of it. A lot of people will go short based on the valuation. Then, when the large sell orders dry up, they will start running it up and squeezing the shorts. Depending on the order flow they might even do it today. Whoa, hold those margins. And how about them projected sales. Helicopter will rain down money on everyone so we can gorge on some more credit and keep the consumer economy going. Why the heck am I talking macro - this is stocks here! Here is to huge revenue increases in fourth quarter, on the back of that vaunted and insatiable american consumer machine. ReplyAmazon's Quarter Fails To Impress [view article]
The stock shot up to 100+ immediately following the release of earnings report. Equally sudden, the stock moved back to the 91+ range. Presumably, the lower margin was known before the stock moved up, so stating that the stock moved down on account of unattractive margin cannot, in my view, hold up. The stock's volatility was too much for comfort. For the many who bought in the 100+, would they be forced to sell tomorrow morning, since Cramer already gave the signal to sell the stock. We'll wait and see. omooc ReplyAmazon's Quarter Fails To Impress [view article]
Just watched Mad Money. Crammer said "ring the register" on AMZN tomorrow . Also said sell 1/2 of RIMM and 1/2 of AAPL. still looking at 750 price target on GOOG.Where will AMZN be bid tomorrow?

I commented on October 18th that shorting Apple wasn't a good idea. As I forecast at the time, we'll likely see $190 before we see $140, which seems pretty obvious after today's record quarter and the $12 jump (to $185 after hours).Still think Apple is going to $140 soon?

That's funny..We did put on an XOM short about a week ago - a little early, but we see an oil bubble peaking now that $87+ oil has arrived. If anything can kill our economy, it's a combo of inflation and dead financials.FNM puts are rocking - I put up a comment today to look at taking about your original capital out of the trade if you have it. Always good to be working with "house money".
These big cap techs will fall - I don't disagree that they have the growth underlying their businesses - esp. RIMM and AAPL. It's a price call on these stocks. Reply

so what's up with genco shipping you give it a buy and it losses or is that because of the increased oil cost ReplyFive Large Cap Short Ideas [view article]
All I can say is that with Mac sales on fire (especially in higher education), the release of Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard" in a week, plus the sales of the refreshed iPod line, in addition to the iPhone, the only way Apple sees $140 again if there's a market meltdown having nothing to do with Apple per se. Also, Apple will announce new products at January's Macworld Expo.To summarize, Apple isn't shortable between now and mid-January unless there's some macro event. I predict we'll see $190 before we'll see $140.

interesting portfolio, you did fine with FNM puts, just God knows, and the Sovereign Funds...an option is shorting IND, EWZ, and, if you have guts, short big brother XOM, seattle may try this politicaly correct move. Replyng

The credit crunch hasn't even begun. Tech earnings will fall, and the stock prices will follow. I think you're right on....especially BIDU, AAPL, AMZN.Seattlelite- as a seattle born trader myself, I'm amazed how Seattle lefties can find a way to bash Bush on every imaginable forum.
