Board and Executive Compensation in S&P 500 [view article]
Years ago when it became so obvious to me that boards of directors were nothing more than good old boys clubs, rubber stamps for corporate executives and every bit as greedy, I began to look in the proxy for the identities of the Compensation Committee. Every proxy I have voted since I have withheld my vote for those committee members and have encouraged others to do the same. May never have an affect but at least its something I can do to express my dissatisfaction... Reply

I have both T and CMCSA. I notice their executive teams are paid the most. That's a shame from these two losers.
The SEC can make up lots more rules & I can vote against the board but unless the mutual fund companies vote their shares against the boards, we individual share holders might as well forget proxy voting.
I cannot understand why the funds don't take the reigns? It is their clients that are losing money. It is true that most of the clients are dumb and lazy regarding financial savy but gezz. You would think the funds would do something, no??

giving the people on the board hefty 'compensation' really amounts to a bribe by the top execs to keep the big exec $ coming, no matter what. Warren Buffet does it right, when it comes to this. good article. thank you. Reply

Implementing Pickens' Plan for Public Energy Policy [view article]
P.S., P.S. If we can't buy gasoline at filling stations, what are we going to do with our gas powered lawn mowers, weed eaters, blowers, etc. Also, I have a 1966 Ford pick up truck in mint condition. Am I supposed to pay to have all of these converted to LPG? And, who is going to pay for it. I'd just as soon dump them in Pelosi's front yard! Reply

P.S. As for wind power, all we have to do is hook up wind mills on politicians mouths and rear ends. That way we can utilize the hot air coming out of both ends of the wind bags! Especially, that dunce Obama and his tire pump. He has never been more proud of his tire pump in all of his adult life! Reply

Anyone who is for government regulations of our fuel consumption and wants cap and trade rules is a total idiot!!! Only fools buy into Al "Gork's" global warming hoax.

Also, in the early 1970's, I bought Mesa LP Preferred stock, which was a T. Boon Pickens company. For every 100 shares I purchased at $15 per share, I ended up with 8 shares worth $8 apiece, due to a reverse stock split. All the while, T. Boone was making a big salary, nice bonus money, and riding around in a corporate jet. Ever since, I have called him T. Boone "Pickpocket"...

Watch out for his promotions! By the way, he is wrong, we can drill our way out of energy problems. For you doubters, just how did we get dependent of oil if we didn't drill to produce it in the first place?

    Pull your heads out!

Apparently, CNBC likes to market Jimbo's meltdown.
Bloomberg is much better resource for investrors. CNBC is entertainment. I like Erin Burnett; she works hard and is sincere.
Najarian and Macke spew out some good stuff once in awhile but I would not buy/sell on anything they say. Don't know why they have Karen Finerman on there; she does not want to give out information.
She kited MSFT and YHOO way past the time when it was clear they were dogs with fleas.

Cramer and CNBC are in the entertainment business, not the market advice business. The best way to play Cramer is to short his picks. Don Harrold has a series of videos using Cramer vs Cramer to show how bad the picks are. www.youtube.com/watch?... Reply

Cramer was wrong so many times, way too many times. I am glad I ahven't followed any of his advice. Why he does not recommend short plays? There is more money to be made on the sell side. What's wrong with shorting?

Can you imagine the 'Mad Bear' program?

Yesterday, CNBC ATTEMPTED to shed some credibility toward Jim Cramer's way. They cited a blow up of his involving the Feds handling of the Financial crisis. My opinion is that even a blind squirrel sometimes fines the nuts. He really screwed the shareholders of Sirius. He's a jackass and I can yell just as loud as he can, if that's what it takes to be right. Reply
