Is this a buy or a sell? Reply18 Ways to Invest in Japan, the Land of the Rising Sun [view article]
Interesting list - I disagree with Orix, though - I think that stock could revisit its 2000 lows of $5. It's basically ridden the carry trade and the stock price correlates highly with the yen, so if the yen goes, so goes IX back down to its old price levels. ReplyRental

Japan Investors Opposing Global Sentiment: Avoid Tech, Buy Material [view article]
Dear William;"Materials" means basic materials stocks. As in the S&P "Materials" SPDR (ticker XLB), basic materials includes such industries as chemicals, construction materials, containers and packaging, metals and mining, and paper and forest products. Apologies for the mis-spelling of Tokyo Electron, which has no ADR (American Depository Receipt), and thus no ticker was given. Reply

This is a little incoherent. What does it mean, "buy material"? Also, the names of a couple of the companies are cut off or don't have tickers attached. ReplyJapanese Stocks in the "House of Pain" (EWJ, ITF, VPL) [view article]
Mike please see this post (click here) I just published that hopefully explains everything and let's you see the light. The key is the exchange rate and the underlying index (MSCI Japan). Reply
