- Friday, February 8, 11:40 AM Activision (ATVI +11.6%) is making multi-year highs following a Q4 beat fueled by a record 44% op. margin and soaring Skylanders toy sales. Sterne Agee has upgraded shares to Buy, declaring Activision well-positioned for upcoming console refreshes and predicting major buybacks are on the way. Management noted on the earnings call most of the Q4 decline in World of Warcraft subs came from China, and that Western subs were relatively stable. Electronic Arts (EA +2.2%) is higher, and so is Chinese Warcraft partner NetEase (NTES +6.7%). 1 Comment [Tech, On the Move, Earnings]

- Tuesday, October 30, 2012, 7:07 PM "Our [fiscal] Q3 looks soft mostly due to Medal of Honor," spoke Electronic Arts (EA) CEO John Riccitello on his company's earnings call. The Street has been concerned for a while about the reception for Medal of Honor Warfighter, which went on sale last week to underwhelming reviews. But a poor demand environment for console games isn't helping EA's cause either. And for now at least, EA's mobile and social gaming efforts aren't enough to offset. (FQ2 results: I, II) Comment! [Tech, Earnings]
- Thursday, August 2, 2012, 4:50 PM More on Activision's Q2: Revenue beat fueled by strong accessory and action figure sales for Skylanders. But World of Warcraft subs fell by 1.1M Q/Q to 9.1M. That contributed to online subscription revenue falling 32% Y/Y to $199M. Home console revenue fell 25% to $203M. Deferred revenue declined by $21M Q/Q. Asia-Pac revenue more than doubled Y/Y, now 17% of total. ATVI -3.5% AH. (PR) (CC webcast) Comment! [Tech, Earnings]
