Not All Gaming Stocks are Worth Playing [view article]
Did you watch the demo of spore and not play it? I have been able to play it for an extended amount of time and it is amazing! It makes a Pixar style graphics editor in thats accessible to the common man. Making these creatures is just plain fun. Its like drawing.

You may not understand that people enjoy drawing and using a "video game" for creative reasons. Its a different approach. But then again, the wii was a different approach and people ripped the "remote control" controller, but then people played it....

Back to the game, after your done drawing, you put your creature in the world and its like having your own fishtank. But you're god and you designed the fish...

The funny thing was my brother, who is basically a halo fanatic, said it was the last video game he would ever need to purchase (meaning he'd play it forever and not get bored).

I question your wisdom on Spore. While I agree the game has too much hype for its own good, your representation of it is rather unfair. The game has sparked largely positive criticism, and my question to you is this: Are you a gamer? Or are you just an investor? I would have less problem with your comment if you gave a fair reason why this high budget, long in the waiting game by video game legend Will Wright is going to be a fluke. But simply saying it is weird and cartoony, well, that's a little much. Reply

"# Microsoft's Office push scrutinized by EU"

I think we can all agree that open document formats are better than closed ones. The interesting thing here, though, is that the EU is quite willing to probe MSFT over this one small thing. And, at the same time, many "neutral" pundits seem to believe MSFT can get away with destroying Yahoo without legal consequences. Most curious.

    Question:
The stats in the first diagram is a distribution of ALL-the traffic into Amazon from search pages ? (which only GOOG or several searc engines?).
So Nintendo accounted for 1.06% of traffic going into Amazon ?
    thx

Will Free Online Gaming Become the New Industry Standard? [view article]
Your statement is factually true, yes, it's an opinion, but I think almost everyone would agree that xbox live is the best to date, even you seem to agree that PSN offers a poorer quality online experience. His point with the xbox reference is really that consoles are demonstrably moving online - even if they aren't free yet. Reply

Will Free Online Gaming Become the New Industry Standard? [view article]
I understand your point, but XBOX being "the best online console to date", is at best an opinion. The whole point of your article is to show how free online gaming is the way of the future, yet to play XBOX online you have to pay a monthly fee of $9.95. Playstation's online servers are free, but that comes at a price: quality. XBOX doesn't have the lag that Playstation does because of the $9.95 charge. Playstation has better games for online play (my opinion), and I wouldn't mind paying $9.95 a month for no lag on the server. I think your article is true for the PC, but as a gaming enthusiast, I believe that online gaming for XBOX and Playstation; for the sake of game play, is better when paid for. Pure game play is essential in online gaming. Reply

December and 2007 Video Game Sales - Incredible [view article]
"PS3 flopped hard, right there in black and white"

Given that HD DVD just flopped, and PS3 will be with us for some time, I expect their ultimate number of units sold will exceed XBox.

But, wii is the REAL winner.

Best, Worst Performing Stocks on Earnings [view article]
The stock market got bit in the butt, today. Now the street realizes that they are in a BEAR MARKET. Worst than that its a long term
    DEPRESSION and not a RECESSION.
Paulson must be smoking funny tobacco, he didn't make any sense this morning on CNBC. He refused to address the problems that are effecting the every day Jane & Joe. All he is doing is bailing out the crooked element on wall street, and protecting the WHITE HOUSE.
What we have isn't Capitalism its like the gang that ran the government in Russia when Joe Stalin was the boss, its call socialism for the few to reap rewards for stiffing the people.
I wouldn't buy anything the market has to offer, until the new administration takes over next year. We need government for the people by the people, not government and lobbyist for the rich and corporate America. We need to get rid of the sumo self proclaimed elite.
