Stop the Week, We Want to Get Off [view article]
Had you listned to Phil and bought those positions when the QQQQs hit $30, you would have made more than 80% on the day. ReplyStop the Week, We Want to Get Off [view article]
GM retiree here. Also UAW member. Peppio, your education has been sadly neglected. The union ( workers & retirees has loaned GM more than 1 B. Replying

American Express Calls Investment Banks' Bluff [view article]
Wow...looking back at this now from a few months along into the future, it would certainly look like AXP was the canary in the mine and that the writer of this article was right on the money in terms of his analysis of where the banks might be heading... GM of course can mass produce but as soon as GM turns back to near normal, the union will squeeze it again. Its the workers, no loyalty, and will follow any orders by the union. Look at Boeing right now, all the workers do is STRIKE, STRIKE, STRIKE. Meantime, AIR-BUS is taking away more business. What can the Gov. do ?? Take over GM ?? ReplyStop the Week, We Want to Get Off [view article]
Government is not going bust, at least right now. By 2011 that will be a different story and my prediction is based on geopolitical events tied into oil and this failed leadership making more bad decisions until the US citizenship fully wakes up. What did you think the $25 B loan to the automakers was for? I'll be buying some GM at the end of this month. The GM Volt should be a big winner by 2011 when they begin to mass produce it. I'll hang onto it probably until 2013 or 2014. All my thinking about everything is 5 years out before the next Bull, but I have been saying this for several months here. ReplyConsidine

Oleg:QPP uses three years of data to initialize the model as the baseline input--but projections have been extensively tested out of sample over decades. Black Swans may exist that defy the model---no one did well with 9/11 or 1987 crash---fair points. I have written about testing for extreme tails in a range of articles if you are interested. Reply

I am hoping to get some advice from you re how to get my QPP running on my PC.Reply

Great commentary, however, I don't mean to piss on your reasoning , but year 3 year of data is NOTHING. LTCM went out of business because they looked over only 10 years of data. Replying

How is V performing well lately? ReplyStill Bullish on RIMM - Cramer's Lightning Round (10/6/08) [view article]
He has no credential. Few weeks ago he called the bottom, and now he said sell everything. He's an okay entertainer (i sort of admire his capability in continuously finding financial related subjects to keep on talking during his show time) However, he is just not accurate.Too bad he's not always wrong. If so, i can just bet on the other way.

This maybe once in a life time opportunity for many peopleto buy shares on these big companies. Imagine with the same money, now I can buy 10 shares or more instead of just 1 share not that long ago. Reply
