    This study is a joke, Steve Nissen hates Merck and was upset he was passed over for leading the study. I heard someone say we need to go back to statins w/ outcome studies, isn't zocor a statin with outcomes??

    I have been on Vytorin for 12 months, the lower dose and my LDL is around 100. I was on straight zocor 20 before and was only doing ok. The media needs to back off and let doctors make decisions for their individual patients. I thought Crestor (at high doses) had side effects also but now it's a wonder drug???

    I don't beleive anything from the media or big pharma in general...it's a business and the doctors are getting paid off all the time for speaking, free lunches, trips, etc...by ALL the companies.     Reply

    That "survey" of 101 PCPs was done by a marketing PR firm. I'm sure it was completely without bias.... Reply

    My doctor switched my prescription to Vytorin 2 1/2 years ago after having been on Zocor for 2 years prior. With maintaining the same diet, my cholesterol went down an additional 10%.
    I have refilled my Vytorin prescription for April and my doctor has no plans to switch to another statin at this time.     Reply

    your post would be more useful if you highlighted the fraction of cash flow that the expirations will have on an individual company basis. Just giving us drug names is nice, but practically useless.

    Terror-free investing as a national policy might or might not work. The unilateral decisions of the US haven't worked out very well e are the best electronics designed and manufactured? Not in our clately, but lets put that aside.

    Who decides what is a terror state? Could China be on that list because of its policies in Tibet? What about Russia and the disappearance of its citizens? What about the US in Iraq and Afghanistan; aren't we terrorizing part of their populations? Is the decision made by someone stuck at a desk in the corner who's name and character are unknown? Maybe we could make it with decisions of congress?

    If everything goes OK, who moves in when we move out? The French, Russia, China? How about Venezuela? Maybe North Korea?
    Wouldn't it be a welcome change to see North Koreans helping out Pakistani Citizens with all their nuclear needs?

    The economic and political power of the US is dwindling as other countries of the world move toward the center stage. Where are the fastest grown economies? Which countries are graduating the most engineers, scientists, and business majors? Where are the best and newest examples of architecture? Not in our country.


    For terror free investing to work on a global scale would require the combined efforts of several independent nations. The US will need to find a new attitude of pragmatism and co-operation as its influence diminishes over the coming decades.

    However, everything else aside, the idea has merit. On an individual basis, or perhaps dedicated "terror free" fund, we could give it a try.

    SNY has been a steady investment over the years....(apple of my eye).
    Doubters -- Look to their pipeline (phase 2 and 3 trials, respectfully).
    SNY's growth model is crystal clear, and while I am unsure of the company's asthma treatment med involvement, overall, it does offer an expansive suite of innovative
