- Tuesday, May 7, 1:54 PM Barclays comes to the defense of Baxter (BAX -3.1%) this afternoon, upping the stock to Overweight on today's weakness. The stock was hit after the drug-maker said Phase III testing of its Gammagard treatment for Alzheimer's disease did not meet its co-primary endpoints. Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Tuesday, May 7, 8:25 AM Baxter International (BAX) slips 2.2% premarket after Phase III testing on its Alzheimer's drug immunoglobulin (IG) - always a long shot - failed to meet its co-primary endpoints. (PR) 1 Comment [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Friday, March 22, 9:29 AM Halozyme Therapeutics (HALO) +18.6% premarket after the European Medicines Agency approves partner Baxter (BAX) for the use of HALO's HyQvia as replacement therapy for adult patients with primary and secondary immunodeficiencies. Upon receiving marketing authorization from the EC, BAX plans to launch HyQvia in some European countries later this year. Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Friday, November 23, 2012, 10:35 AM Baxter International (BAX +1.4%) is in talks on a deal to buy Swedish medical-equipment maker Gambro for roughly $4B. Though still in its early stages, the companies are aiming to complete a deal within the next two to three weeks. Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move, M&A]
- Wednesday, August 1, 2012, 7:24 PM Baxter (BAX) confirms it's received a complete response letter from the FDA delaying the approval of its investigational product HyQ. More specifically, the agency says it's seeking additional preclinical data focusing on issues related to non-neutralizing antibodies and the possible effects they have on reproduction, development and fertility. HyQ, which is in development with Halozyme Therapeutics (HALO), is a treatment that aims to allow physicians to tailor antibody drug therapy to the needs of patients with immune-system disorders. BAX -0.6%, HALO -54% AH. Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Wednesday, July 25, 2012, 12:49 PM In addition to raising its dividend by 34% this morning, Baxter International (BAX +2.9%) also approves a new $2B stock buyback program, as the health-care company looks to share the wealth and boost shareholder value. BAX has benefited recently on strong demand for its hemophilia and immunodeficiency products, and because of its product focus on life-threatening ailments and injuries, the company has been less impacted by the slowdown in health-care spending than its peers. 1 Comment [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Tuesday, June 19, 2012, 8:06 AM Shares of Baxter International (BAX) gain 1.1% premarket after Goldman Sachs adds the company to its Conviction Buy List on a valuation call and with the potential of its pipeline and another dividend increase looming for H2. Comment! [On the Move, Consumer]
