- ConocoPhillips (COP) is seeking approval from the U.S. government to resume liquefied natural gas exports of 20B cf/year for two years from its Kenai Peninsula plant.
- The plant was shut down in March when COP’s export license expired and gas supplies were limited due to declining production in Cook Inlet, but new discoveries in the inlet have again raised the possibility of exports.
- Explorers and producers have welcomed COP's LNG export application, which would provide a market for gas discoveries made by Buccaneer Energy (BCGYF) and others.
