I'd suggest no only hold PFE, but buy more. In fact, why not have one share transferred into your name, that way you can participate in the purchase plan, paying no commissions! ReplyLepoff, M.D.

Pfizer Fizzles, Fast Money Recap (4/18/08) [view article]
Pfizer is a drug company, and they provide research that benefitseveryone, along with drugs that help people. Sometimes in our rush
to make a profit, we lose sight of the good a company does. This
is the nature of the sector, creating drugs takes time and money.
They have a ton of cash, and will continue to make money for many
years to come. I'm holding my shares for the long run. Reply

Anyone who not only watches this slimiest group of touts/thieves/liars, but actually follows their recommendations, deserves to lose money.CNBC reached down into a toilet and came up with this group.
As if Cramer wasn't bad enough, this den of thieves makes Cramer look sainted.

Pfizer Should Buy Amgen or Wyeth - Credit Suisse [view article]
do a bunch of small deals would be my option for Pfe! Pharma is changing away from mega deals like the Lipitor Deal they did several years ago. Reason being is Competition in a MC World. In a MC world formulary control becomes the driver. No one pays for a med w/ o proven benefit "Outcomes" in our Brave New World! So you mine for selected Targeted Therapies that you can adroitly market. I see this as the new Pharma paradigm. Watch Pfe buy the Mid Sized biotech who is completing Phase-3 and is before FDA pending approval on 1 or 2 candidates w/ 1 already on the market in an area that is compatible w/ their Marketing/Research ReplyL. Baxter, Biogen Idec & Elan Subjects of Broken Embargoes [view article]
Journals and conferences embargo papers in an effort to maximize their ability to win publicity for their organizations when the papers are released in the journals and at the meetings. They force researchers to agree to their embargoes as part of their terms when they accept the papers for publication or presentation.Since the researchers' careers depend on their publishing records in peer review journals, they play the game. Also, researchers' grants often require that they publish in peer reviewed journals and that they make presentations at major conferences.
Thus, the intellectual integrity of medical researchers is compromised both by the organizations that fund their research and by the organizations that publish their findings. This is one reason there is so little trust in medical research, medical journals and the information that comes out of major medical conferences. It is so compromised by money and ambition, and it reflects badly on academia and the medial research community.
That analysts broke the embargoes is only natural. They had access to inside information that they couldn't publish, and that causes disclosure problems for the analysts and the drug companies involved with the SEC and shareholders.
Researchers should refuse to embargo their findings. Academia should find other ways of measuring and rewarding scholarly work, and securities analysts should continue to break embargoes. Medical journals and conferences have had their days and should go away. Reply

Cancer Stocks Hammered Once Again [view article]
I don't know the company, but it sure looks interesting. Technically, it would be nice to hold 1.75. The company is seemingly deficient in cash - it would appear that there will be either an equity or debt offering this year. If they become profitable as forecast this year, the stock could get some attention - diagnostics have been hot. Reply
