Monday, September 24, 2012, 3:56 PM ProShares sets splits and reverse splits on 11 of its levered ETFs to try and bring the share prices back to levels more palatable to traders. Among those affected is a favorite of pain-seekers, the double-levered short 20+ Year Treasury fund (TBT), which will see a 1-for-4 reverse split on Oct. 4. 2 Comments

Monday, March 7, 2011, 7:43 AM Sanofi (SNY) extends its offer for the outstanding shares of Genzyme (GENZ) to April 1 from March 16. Meanwhile, other biotech firms focused on rare diseases say the Sanofi-Genzyme deal puts many peers into play as takeover targets. Comment!
Saturday, October 30, 2010, 4:58 PM In a major policy reversal, the DoJ filed an amicus brief late yesterday saying human DNA and other genes shouldn't be eligible for patents. It's unclear whether the Patent Office will adopt the position, which could potentially force some biotech firms to change the way they develop drugs.
