It's a bad day for Jonathan Lebed's stock touts. Synacor (SYNC -26.8%) and BroadVision (BVSN -14.3%) are both crashing after posting Q2 results (I, II). BroadVision's Q2 revenue fell 5% Y/Y to a mere $3.8M, and EPS came in at -$0.54. No Street estimates exist for the company. (BVSN transcript)

BroadVision (BVSN +22.6%), a favorite of momentum traders and notorious stock promoter Jonathan Lebed, is soaring again in the absence of any news. Shares had fallen 82% from their March high as of yesterday's close.

What's going on with BroadVision (BVSN +5.6%)? In spite of several major selloffs (I, II, III), and the company's admission its recent surge can't be explained by business events, shares are up 304% YTD, thanks in part to the efforts of the "National Inflation Association," run by controversial stock promoter Jonathan Lebed. SA's Shareholders United is confident this will all end badly, given BroadVision's weak fundamentals.

To recap, the e-commerce software firm: a) rose 309% from the end of 2011 to its Jan. 24 high, b) fell 55% over the next 4 trading days, partly thanks to a poor Q4 report, c) subsequently rallied 99% over the next 6 trading days, before selling off today.

Looks like the party is over for BroadVision (BVSN -9%) Shares are down another 13.8% AH after the company, which mysteriously surged during much of January, reported Q4 revenue of  $4.2M (-18% Y/Y) and EPS of -$0.30 ($0.14 profit in year-ago period). There are no consensus estimates due to a lack of analyst coverage. BroadVision shares are now down 57% from their Tuesday high.

BroadVision (BVSN +17%) continues its epic 2012 romp, now up 257% YTD on no news of note. The move likely shows what stock promoters working with a tiny float can occasionally accomplish. Tim Collins notes no options trade on the stock, making engineering a short squeeze a lot easier. Coming soon: the crash and the SEC investigation?
