- Thursday, June 13, 3:49 PM "Bargain hunters should be buying" shares of Cardinal Health (CAH +1.6%) Barron's Jack Hough says. Although contract losses (Express Scripts and Walgreen) will hit FY13 and FY14 revenues hard, CAH may actually see a benefit in terms of margin expansion. Additionally, the liquidation of inventory tied to Walgreen should bring in $500M in cash. Add this to the prospect of a return to double-digit earnings growth two years from now and things don't look half bad. Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Thursday, June 6, 8:44 AM Omnicare's (OCR) recent adoption of a Change in Control Plan (8-K) has Credit Suisse thinking the company could be a takeout candidate as "such action has signaled potential outside interest" in the past. While the move is "probably a routine corporate governance action," improved Long-Term Care performance and swift Specialty growth make the company a decent buyout candidate for the likes of McKesson (MCK) and Cardinal Health (CAH), analyst Glen Santangelo says. Comment! [Healthcare, M&A]
- Thursday, May 2, 2:59 PM Cardinal Health, Inc. (CAH) declares $0.3025/share quarterly dividend, 10% increase from prior dividend of $0.275. Forward yield 2.62%. For shareholders of record July 01. Payable July 15. Ex-div date June 27. (PR) Comment! [Dividends]
- Thursday, May 2, 10:48 AM Cardinal Health (CAH +4.7%) moves up today after FQ3 results beat on a per share basis. Net earnings rose 3.6% Y/Y, boosted by a tax benefit and stronger margins. Gross margin rose to 5.3% from 4.5%, as medical segment sales improved 3% and profit from the unit grew 12%. Its pharmaceutical segment reported a 10% decline in revenue, mostly on the non-renewal of its contract with Express Scripts and brand-to-generic conversions, but the unit's net profit still climbed 12%. The company also raises its FY13 EPS estimate to between $3.67 and $3.71, versus previous estimates of $3.42 to $3.50. Comment! [Healthcare, Earnings, On the Move]
- Thursday, May 2, 7:05 AM Cardinal Health (CAH): FQ3 EPS of $1.20 beats by $0.25. Revenue of $24.6B misses by $0.12B. (PR) Comment! [Earnings, Breaking News]

- Tuesday, March 19, 10:06 AM AmerisourceBergen's distribution deal with Walgreen means that the latter's contract with Cardinal Health (CAH -7%) will end in August. Cardinal tries to put a brave face on things, saying it's targeting EPS from continuing ops at least similar to FY 2013's projected $3.42-3.50. And while Walgreen accounted for 21% of Cardinal's revenue in FY 2012, the non-renewal will lead to a "meaningful" net benefit to cash flow in FY 2014. (PR) Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move]

[On the Move] - Tuesday, March 19, 8:41 AM CardinalHealth (CAH) tumbles 5.2% after AmerisourceBergen (ABC) signs a 10-year distribution deal with Walgreen and its partner Alliance Boots. Meanwhile, CardinalHealth has completed its $2.07B acquisition of privately held AssuraMed, a provider of medical supplies to patients in the home. Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Thursday, February 14, 8:50 AM More on Cardinal Health (CAH +1.8%) acquiring AssuraMed: the deal will allow Cardinal Health to "serve the growing number of Americans treated in (the) home." Calls the deal a "platform opportunity" for its products and services. AssuraMed earned 2012 revenues of $1B, serving over 1M patients with more than 30,000 products. (PR) Comment! [Healthcare, M&A]
- Thursday, February 14, 8:08 AM Cardinal Health (CAH) agrees to acquire closely-held direct-to-home medical supplies provider AssuraMed for $2.07B. The deal will be financed with $1.3B in new senior unsecured notes and cash. CAH says the deal would add $0.02-$0.03/share to FY 2013 adjusted earnings if the deal closes in early April, and at least $0.18/share in FY 2014. CAH +1.2% premarket. Comment! [Healthcare, M&A, On the Move]
- Tuesday, February 5, 1:40 PM Cardinal Health (CAH +1.6%) puts up a decent FQ2 report this morning, despite weaker revenue out of its pharmaceutical unit, due in part to brand-to-generic conversions and the loss of the Express Scripts business. Net earnings still managed to rise by 16% Y/Y however, as the drug wholesaler posted better margins. Revenue in its pharmaceutical business its largest by revenue, declined 8%, while its medical business increased by 3%, boosted by last year's acquisition of FutureMed and an additional sales day. Comment! [Healthcare, Earnings, On the Move]
- Tuesday, February 5, 7:05 AM Cardinal Health (CAH): FQ2 EPS of $0.93 beats by $0.07. Revenue of $25.2B beats by $0.59B. (PR) Comment! [Earnings, Breaking News]
