Mobile phone logistics firm Brightpoint (CELL -16.1%) tumbles after delivering in-line Q4 EPS in spite of a healthy revenue beat (the result of competition, and a mix shift towards low-margin services), and lowering its 2012 EPS guidance to a range of $1.07-$1.17 ($1.16 consensus). Brightpoint also says it expects the number of devices it handles to fall 15%-20% Q/Q in Q1, worse than normal seasonality. (PR)

Canaccord's Mike Walkley sees the unraveling of AT&T's bid to acquire T-Mobile as a positive for phone logistics provider Brightpoint (CELL +3.6%), given T-Mobile is a major Brightpoint customer, and its continued existence as an independent carrier translates into better 2012 visibility. Moreover, Walkley expects growing global smartphone sales to give a lift to Brightpoint's distribution business. (more on AT&T)
