    Steven, some might go to local farmers markets instead where its cheaper. Some won't have a choice - economics dictate beliefs. I think many of the world's poor would love to eat meats but they are stuck with rice. Economics trumps everything.

    Anyhow the Deere and WFMI calls worked out very well. Almost verbatim on both.

    I am not expecting that the Whole Foods shopper will suddenly start to buy cheap and poisoned food. This customer has an underlying belief that organic=better health and will not readily trade that for a few dollars off. Organic buyers are careful shoppers and have already made the trade off between price and quality. Buying organic includes a belief system in an entire system of agriculture that, once acquired, will not easily be shaken. That said it may prove harder to acquire new customers in the future. Reply
