- Tuesday, April 23, 7:15 AM Celestica (CLS): Q1 EPS of $0.16 beats by $0.01. Revenue of $1.37B (-19% Y/Y) misses by $0.01B. (PR) Comment! [Earnings, Breaking News, Tech]
- Tuesday, January 22, 4:26 PM Celestica (CLS): Q4 EPS of $0.25 beats by $0.06. Revenue of $1.5B beats by $0.03B. (PR) Comment! [Earnings, Tech, Breaking News]
- Wednesday, December 19, 2012, 5:35 PM More on Jabil: FQ2 guidance is for revenue of $4.3B-$4.5B and EPS of $0.50-$0.58 vs. a consensus of $4.38B and $0.59. A 20% Y/Y increase in diversified manufacturing services, including a 51% increase for the Specialized Services sub-unit, fueled the beat. Tero Kuittinen wonders if this was due to RIM (a Jabil client) transferring orders from Celestica. Enterprise/infrastructure services +17%, High Velocity sales -20%. $129M in shares repurchased. JBL +5.8% AH. FLEX +0.8%. (PR) Comment! [Tech, Earnings]
- Wednesday, December 5, 2012, 4:44 PM Celestica (CLS) says that Darren Myers has been appointed as CFO. Myers is succeeds Paul Nicoletti, who will be leaving the company effective December 28 to pursue other interests. Comment! [Tech]
- Tuesday, October 23, 2012, 6:03 PM Celestica (CLS): Q3 EPS of $0.26 beats by $0.06. Revenue of $1.57B (-14% Y/Y) misses by $80M. (PR) Comment! [Earnings, Tech]
- Friday, July 27, 2012, 2:52 PM Research In Motion (RIMM +6.1%) is bouncing strongly today. One possible reason is the top-line beat found in contract manufacturer Celestica's (CLS +6.8%) Q2 report. Celestica is winding down its RIM business, but that only started in Q3. In Q2, RIM made up 17% of Celestica's sales. That's down slightly from Q1's 19%, but probably better than some feared. Hopefully for RIM, this won't lead the company to be burdened with more excess inventory. Comment! [Tech, On the Move]
- Friday, July 27, 2012, 7:39 AM Celestica (CLS): Q2 EPS of $0.22 misses by $0.02. Revenue of $1.74B (-4.6% Y/Y) beats by $50M. (PR) Comment! [Earnings, Tech]
- Monday, June 18, 2012, 8:52 AM Celestica (CLS) will wind down the electronics manufacturing services it provides to RIM over the next 3-6 months. Celestica expects restructuring charges of up to $35M before any recoveries. The company also reaffirms its Q2 guidance for EPS of $0.20-$0.26 and revenue of $1.65B-$1.75B. (PR) Comment! [Tech, Earnings]
- Friday, June 1, 2012, 9:56 AM Topeka Capital's Brian White is downgrading electronics contract manufacturers Flextronics (FLEX -2.3%), Celestica (CLS -2.2%), Benchmark Electronics (BHE -4%), and Plexus (PLXS -4.1%), largely on concerns about slowing demand for tech hardware. White is also worried about Flextronics' competitive woes and "misguided business strategies," Celestica's exposure to Research In Motion, and Plexus' reliance on niche markets seeing new competition. 1 Comment [Tech, Quick Ideas]
- Tuesday, April 17, 2012, 2:25 PM Celestica (CLS -1.2%) slips after being downgraded to Hold at Deutsche Bank earlier today on valuation. Deutsche says the stock is up 23% over the past three months, and has significantly outperformed its peers. Going forward, the firm expects revenue growth to remain in the mid-single digits in FY12 and further operating margin improvements to be more difficult to come by. Comment! [Tech, On the Move]
- Friday, April 13, 2012, 9:23 AM Electronics contract manufacturer CTS is down 12.9% premarket after warning it expects Q1 EPS of $0.05-$0.07, below a Street estimate of $0.16. The company, which just restarted manufacturing at a Thai facility crippled by flooding, blames lagging insurance reimbursements, customer returns, and a slow start to Q1. CTS is reiterating its 2012 EPS guidance of $0.75-$0.80 ($0.78 consensus). Some of CTS' peers: JBL, FLEX, SANM, CLS, PLXS, NTE. Comment! [Tech, Earnings, On the Move]
- Friday, January 27, 2012, 4:12 PM Celestica (CLS +4.1%) finishes the day higher despite a mixed Q4 result that missed the mark on revenue. Investors looked past the shortfall however, to concentrate on 80% Y/Y profit growth as revenue-diversification efforts and a focus on operational effectiveness spurred bottom line performance. Comment! [On the Move]
- Thursday, January 26, 2012, 4:47 PM Celestica (CLS): Q4 EPS of $0.33 beats by $0.07. Revenue of $1.75B (-6.5% Y/Y) misses by $30M. (PR) Comment! [Earnings, Tech]
- Tuesday, December 20, 2011, 5:22 PM Citi's Javier Guardo names 19 "contrarian sells," stocks with ascending mean consensus estimates he believes are likely to disappoint: BAX, GIL, STJ, ZMH, ABT, GWW, EHTH, AVB, CLS, BBY, ORA, O, CNSL, YGE, OFC, EV, RIMM, BHE, FII. Comment! [Quick Ideas]
- Friday, December 2, 2011, 12:38 PM Celestica (CLS -3.5%) dips after Ticonderoga cuts the shares to sell on the back of its disappointing October quarter results. Comment! [On the Move]
- Wednesday, September 28, 2011, 2:30 PM Goldman and Collins Stewart sing Jabil's (JBL +7.8%) praises following its earnings beat (I, II). The former thinks the growth of Jabil's value-added services business will boost margins, while the latter thinks Jabil will continue benefiting from a mostly healthy tech spending environment. Rising in sympathy: FLEX +1.9%, CLS +1.8%. Comment! [Tech, Quick Ideas, On the Move]
