I was just commenting on what Abe said - they could have fixed that heatsink problem over a year ago - what's stopping them? ReplyFor Comcast, Broadband Slows [view article]

xbox another lousy badly engineered piece of technology by Microsoft15% failure rate is an embarrassment .. i can only imagine if something like this would happen to Apple right now the stock would be in the single digits LOL
anyway I think right now MSFT is a good buy if it goes down to $25-26 Reply

Comcast has been doing a number of dumb things-- haven't they been throttling back on UpLoad seeds? ReplyUnder The Radar News - Thursday [view article]

UBS Sees Trouble Ahead for Cable Stocks [view article]
Last time I heard Chanos calling Comcast a short was at the VIC in Nov. 2005. It proceeded to go up 50% immediately thereafter. And you guys are right - the Street analysts are always several steps behind in their groupthink. It's probably much closer to a buy than it is a sell. Where was the guy when CMCSA was close to 30? ReplyWhat's Yahoo's Next Move? [view article]
People are not looking at this and analyzing it enough. AAPL needs yhoo to compliment its product diversity and durability. AAPL currently has products that if it doesnt compel or economy goes for the down turn, it can drive the company down easily. They need a steady revenue stream and advertising and internet can do that for them. Remember Yhoo is not growing as fast as it could but its profit is positive. The internet is growing, and users are multiplying. India alone will have alot of growth on users along with china. Getting its foot wet by acquiring yhoo is a refreshing feeling and shouldnt be feared at. I think Job's can turn it around with his industrial design mind. Cut the cost of electricity by moving its servers and data to the north where its colder and elements can be used to cool the heat generating servers / machines. This will give yhoo profits of 100's of million rather than spending 100's of million on bills. Job's if your listening... this is a good deal. Partner up with someone to buy YHOO, but either way dont pass up on something like this... there will be no other chance down the road. ReplyWhat's Yahoo's Next Move? [view article]
"William Morrison, ThinkEquity, has simple advice for Yahoo holders: “Take the money and run.”"Just so. Sell NOW.
Yahoo itself should simply do nothing. They are under ZERO obligation to allow acquisition by MSFT or anybody else. Reply

this is not apples thing… yahoo would not fit in the apple pantheon. this whole bother you to death with adverts with a minimal amount of usefulness to make money is a windows approach, my mac has a google search window in its browser it works fine we don't need a headache on the mac. let Blamer have this one ReplyWho Would Want Sprint? Google, Comcast [view article]
The Sprint-Google rumor strikes me as silly. What would happen to Sprint's aging and overpaid workforce? They wouldn't be welcome at Goog, that's for sure. Goog has worked harder than any company in recent history to attract and retain top talent - with an emphasis on young innovators. They have worked equally hard to keep the University of Phoenix, corporate lifer crowd OUT. The last thing they want is to acquire a boatload of bozos from a sinking ship who could drag down the company until they all either die or retire.
For legal reasons that are not worth detailing, it would not be feasible for them to buy any substantial portion of Sprint's assets but dump the workers. Not to mention the PR and practical problems with firing everyone. Reply

Who Would Want Sprint? Google, Comcast [view article]
I keep hearing the rumors about Google...but nobody has ever tracked any kind of a reliable source for this so-called rumor. It is, in fact, speculation based upon Google's oodles of cash and thier current interest in wireless things, and Sprint's ever deepening hole that they have put themselves in. Like Duff said...why would they want to go from a free-wheeling internet/software model of write-it-once-and-sell... to Sprint's heavily regulated, incredibly capital intensive, intensely competitive environment.
