Friday, January 18, 2:02 PM Rockwell Collins (COL -0.9%) slips today despite its FQ1 beating across-the-board earlier this morning. Net earnings edged up 1.5% Y/Y as the company recorded a smaller income-tax expense, which helped offset a slight drop in sales. The company also raised its FY13 guidance as a result of an R&D tax-credit extension, and is now looking for per-share earnings between $4.45 and $4.65, compared with its prior outlook of $4.30 to $4.50. Thursday, November 15, 2012, 10:06 AM Boeing (BA +0.4%) confirms speculation that Honeywell (HON) and Rockwell Collins (COL +1%) will be important suppliers to the new fuel-efficient 737 Max jet, with Honeywell to provide electronic bleed air systems and Rockwell large-format displays for the flight deck. Boeing also says that it's finished the "first concept" of the Max, or defining it in broad terms. The jet remains on course for delivery in 2017. (PR) Comment!
Thursday, November 15, 2012, 4:20 AM Honeywell (HON) and Rockwell Collins (COL) are poised to receive significant contracts to supply systems to Boeing's (BA) next-generation 737 Max jet, the WSJ reports, with an announcement expected today. The value of the agreements isn't clear, although they're important because Boeing has received 969 orders for the 737 Max, making it the plane company's fastest-selling model. Comment!
Friday, October 26, 2012, 11:09 AM Rockwell Collins (COL +1.9%) moves up after beating FQ4 EPS estimates this morning. Net profit fell 13% Y/Y however, due to restructuring charges and a slowdown in government systems sales over budget concerns. Sales in the segment - its largest top-line contributor - fell 10% to $701M. Bottom line results were bouyed by cost cutting measures, which gave a boost to operating margins, improving to 23.5% from 20.9%.
