Labor Department's April Consumer Price Index ((CPI)) at 8:30. Economists expect an unchanged reading compared with -0.1% in March. Core CPI is seen up 0.1%, compared with a 0.2% rise last month.

Consumer prices were flat vs. a year ago, against a consensus of +0.1%. Takeaway: consumer prices were much closer to consensus forecasts than were yesterday's wholesale prices.

08:33 AMConsumer Prices ((CPI)) fell 0.7% in December vs. November, less than the consensus forecast of -0.9%. Core CPI of 0% vs. +0.1% consensus. Prices rose 0.1% vs. a year ago, vs. consensus of -0.2%. Core prices were -0.7% M/M, vs. -0.9% consensus, and +1.8% Y/Y.
