Japanese stocks extend their run today, after U.S. markets finished at record highs. The Nikkei Average is currently trading at 14,354 after ending Wednesday at its highest level since June 2008: Toyota (TM +1.7%), Fanuc (FANUY.PK +2.2%), Casio (CSIOY.PK +2.4%).
Japanese stocks move higher in early trading, with the Nikkei Average advancing +0.1% to 11,415. Financials and exporters lead: Nomura Holdings (NMR +1%), Shinsei Bank (SKLKY.PK +1.1%) and Casio Computer (CSIOY.PK +1%).
Japanese stocks retreat today, as a declining dollar against the Japanese yen removed some recent support for exporters. The Nikkei Average slipped 0.6% to trade at 10,539 in early action: Mazda (MZDAY.PK -3.6%), Casio Computer (CSIOY.PK -1.2%).
