Carlisle (CSL -2.7%) Q1 EPS beat Street expectations but misses on revenue as organic sales fell 6.8% Y/Y, primarily due to lower demand in its Carlisle Brake & Friction business and sales declines in global off-highway equipment market. Losses were partially offset however, from better sales from recent acquisitions Carlisle Interconnect Technologies and Carlisle Construction Materials segments, which contributed 3.3% to sales on a net basis.

Construction materials firm Carlisle (CSL) is down 9.2% after reporting Q2 revenue and EPS of $870.8M and $0.87 - the former figure beat consensus by $40.5M, but the latter missed by $0.04. The company is blaming margin weakness on higher raw material costs and "production inefficiencies" related to the startup of a tire facility. (transcript)
