Thanks for the charts!!Russia's game of cat and mouse could go on for quite awhile.
If they withdraw the troops then NATO/Peacekeepers probably come in.
This most likely will keep the energy markets in hyper mode.

Point and figure charts for DIA, SPY have been bearish throughout the "sucker rally." QQQQ, MDY, IWM have been and still are bullish. XLE has turned bullish. GLD, IYT, XLF are bearish. IYR is bullish but on the verge of going bearish.stockcharts.com/charts...|E

They're still Soviet thugs to me! ReplyFriday Outlook: Commodities, Emerging Markets [view article]
Good stuff, as usual. The Soviets are in a bind as much as we are. They own lots of Fannie and Ferdie paper. Perhaps the SEcretary of the Central Treasury called them to hasten their exit from Georgia, or else, no taxpayer backstop of their bonds. Ok, I know technical analysts focus on graphs and don't pay much attention to real world context, but seriously...Soviets!?Decade check! Reply
Olympics Ending Should Boost Commodity Driven Stocks [view article]
Is the end of the Olympics a surprise? Wasn't it scheduled years in advance? And if so, wouldn't it already be discounted by the market? Are industrial purchasing managers and commodity traders obliged to sit on their hands until after the closing ceremony?Tying commodity prices to sports events makes as much sense as tying them to moon phases.

Olympics Ending Should Boost Commodity Driven Stocks [view article]
The shutdown was only for factories in the Beijing area. Probably a small proportion of overall Chinese industrial production. ReplyWednesday Outlook: Commodities, Emerging Markets [view article]
usa is not detroit . ReplyOlympics Ending Should Boost Commodity Driven Stocks [view article]
I too agree... but what time frame after the olympics? weeks , months, qtrs? I would think orders have already been placed for these precious dry products ... placed but not shipped.... BDI better bump soon or the world recession looks to be more of a reality than most believe ReplyETF Update: New Asia ETF, Commodity ETFs, Base Metal Prices [view article]
Those commodity ETFs look like losers to me after an eight year bull. Ill pass. ReplyWednesday Outlook: Commodities, Emerging Markets [view article]
Gabe,I'm in Detroit and believe me, we have inflation AND deflation here. Homes and businesses deflating while costs and taxes inflating. I think you should seriously take off those rose colored glasses you wear and take a good look around. It may be true that the European and emerging nations will feel dramatic pain, but if you think that's going to be our resolution here, you are very sadly mistaken my friend. Reply

You didn't mention any of the Elements - Rodgers ETNs like RJI, which I think has the most extensive list of various commodities under one fund. ReplyOlympics Ending Should Boost Commodity Driven Stocks [view article]
Damn, I hope you are right. I need some up ticks for a change. Hopefully Olympic medals headlines will be replaced by precious metals headlines..UP. ReplyOlympics Ending Should Boost Commodity Driven Stocks [view article]
Agree completely! I also have major positions in DRYS and RIG. Reply
