- Wednesday, June 19, 5:39 PM Depomed (DEPO) says that the FDA's website shows that an Abbreviated New Drug Application for a generic version of Zipsor has been submitted. DEPO hasn't received a Paragraph IV certification with respect to the filing and doesn't know the identity of the party that filed. The company says Zipsor is protected by five patents, all of which are listed in the FDA’s Orange Book, and it intends to vigorously enforce its intellectual property rights relating to the drug. Comment! [Healthcare]
- Monday, June 3, 12:32 PM The FDA's rejection of Depomed's (DEPO +6.2%) Sefelsa appears to be a non-event. Results of the FDA panel actually came out in early March, in which the majority voted against approval (13-1 against sufficient evidence of efficacy, 12-2 against risk/benefit profile). Comment! [Healthcare, On the Move]
- Sunday, June 2, 4:53 AM The FDA has rejected Depomed's (DEPO) gabapentin drug for treating hot flashes associated with the menopause, as the risks - such as the prompting of suicidal thoughts - outweigh the benefits. Depomed will now stop developing gabapentin for menopause hot flashes; under the brand name Gralise, the medicine is already authorized to treat pain from shingles. (PR) Comment! [Healthcare]
- Thursday, May 9, 1:43 PM Depomed (DEPO -6.3%) slides after missing top and bottom line estimates. Sales of Gralise came in at $6.1M as prescription growth for the shingles pain medication fell to 7% during the period. Meanwhile, sales of Zipsor fell to $3M from $4.9M in the previous two quarters. Sales of both products were affected by price increases and wholesaler inventory reductions. SA contributor and analyst Jason Napodano (who was on the CC) calls the stock "cheap" in a comprehensive rundown of the quarter. (PR) Comment! [Healthcare, Earnings, On the Move]
- Wednesday, May 8, 4:25 PM DepoMed (DEPO): Q1 EPS of -$0.10 misses by $0.04. Revenue of $26.2M misses by $2.73M. (PR) Comment! [Earnings, Breaking News, Healthcare]

- Monday, March 4, 12:54 PM More on Depomed (DEPO): The FDA overwhelmingly rejects gabapentin, saying that clinical studies didn't meet the required study goals. In particular, the agency said three studies didn't show a reduction in the frequency of hot flashes at 12 weeks of treatment, and though the study showed a reduction in the severity, results varied considerably. The decision is surprising, considering that Gabapentin and some antidepressants are already used by some doctors to treat hot flashes even though the medicines aren't approved for that use. Shares remain halted. Comment! [Healthcare]
- Monday, March 4, 12:03 PM The FDA votes 12 no to 2 yes on the risk/benefit of Depomed's (DEPO) Gabapentin in treating moderate to severe vasomotor symtoms due to menopause, 13 no and 1 yes on its efficacy. Shares remain halted. Comment! [Healthcare, Breaking News]
- Monday, March 4, 8:31 AM DepoMed (DEPO) will be halted until the conclusion of this morning's FDA panel on the use of sefelsa for VMS (menopausal hot flashes). Panel webcast here. Adam Feurstein's liveblog here. Comment! [Healthcare]

- Wednesday, December 26, 2012, 5:00 PM Depomed (DEPO) says that its lawsuits against two filers of Abbreviated New Drug Applications for Gralise have been dismissed at its own request. The dismissal was requested after Watson Laboratories (WPI) withdrew its application, and Par Pharmaceutical (PRX) amended its to no longer seek approval prior to the expiration of DEPO's Gralise patents listed for in the FDA's Orange Book.
