Homebuilders: NVR Buys Lots From Beazer [Housing Tracker] [view article]
Major builders halt building projects? Another major revelation !

Where would be today if they had thought of this a year ago?

This industry is up there with automobiles and banks for the stupidity of managements.

Wow! Toll Brothers finally sees some merit in lowering prices. Imagine that!

How much are we paying CEO Toll to come up with that idea?

    Another great compilation article.Good work,Judy!

I must be missing something..How can homebuilder stocks be a good investment with prices falling and may fall for several years.Add to that the tightness of credit and consumer problems...think 10ft pole!

when I read the insiders activities on the stocks that i own i always see large blocks of stocks being sold or option being exercised. As a stock holder i paid for my shares these insiders didn't there shares came from the stockholders. The only company i have that has honest management is brk.a/b Reply

Update: Homebuilder Incentives [Housing Tracker] [view article]
It is clear that the offer to support FME is being used to continue imprudent lending, and the taxpayer will foot the bill.
It is also clear that the small increase in housesales is entirely due to this practise, and that no bottom is in sight for the market.
As unemployment hits the second wave of price falls should hit, moderated of course by the US massively increasing the national debt and throwing taxpayers money away.

Pent up demand??? What on earth is he talking about? If people wanted to get off the sidelines and get in the game, they probably have the most choices of any time in their lives. No wonder people can't understand this mess. They can't think for all the noise. Reply

I also saw the Nightly Business Report you make referance to. Total dance around with no explicit replies.
Mr. Syron was more than a bit scattered. I remember thinking, whose in charge of the looney bin? Hopefully not him.
You do us investors an injustice by saying, " I found Syron a bit scattered, but perhaps this is to be expected when you are trying to manage a behemoth of a company through such a tight dilemma.
He has had years to "unscatter his brain" before this debacle. His salary proves it.

I wouldn't be surprised if all those greedy mortgage manipulators, after losing their shirts in housing, moved into oil to get their money back.

If FNM and FRE are to be bailed out, take it from the "oil nouveau" Their the same people!!

Instead of robbing Peter to pay Paul, we can Rob Paul!

    Did I say Ron Paul??

God, I wish I had some of that old money.
