Keeping Metals In May, Not Going Away [view article]
As to the rise in production cost versus metals prices:That's why you want to own high grade deposits. In my view, stocks like Novagold whose assets consist of gargantuan mineral deposits of low-grade ore are the riskiest because those deposits are on the hairy edge as far as whether they are profitable.
In contrast, I think companies with high grade underground deposits of gold e.g. in Quebec and Ontario are more certain to be profitable in the face of high costs. I am assuming that energy is the biggest driver. Of course, labor is also an issue. Hopefully the labor supply isn't so tight you have to pay CEO wages to hire a gold miner. Reply

I agree fully with the comments in regards to South Africa. PAL is a beautifull choice in contrary. I also like a junior gold company from Mexico. I feel mexican mining stocks are more valuable and undervalued in the junior sector. Take a look at CGLD (CAPITAL GOLD CORP).Go away in May? I do not think so! Reply

What about sell "equities" in may and go away..into corporate preferreds for the summer. ReplyKeeping Metals In May, Not Going Away [view article]
Blah..blah..blah...thi... sounds like more paranoid silver/gold paranoia. Physical metals..especially silver..have huge markups and at some point, unless you like staring at them must be sold. Now you have shipping costs and huge markdowns. Silver has spreads you can drive trucks thru...20% or better round trip. If yo must buy silver, buy from Ted Butler...everyone else is a crook according to him.In any case, the ETFs are fine for normal people. DNN is a great buy..and Hecla (HL) actually has a negative prosuction cost on silver in one of its mines because of by product metals caught up in the process.
Anytime you hear this "cartel" nonsense move on...you're dealing with nut cases. Reply

Whoops!!...that should have been "non-deliverabili... jt ReplyKeeping Metals In May, Not Going Away [view article]
GLD and SLV are NOT the "real thing." If you want the real thing buy physical gold and silver, and ESPECIALLY Silver. GLD and SLV have been analyzed, including all the fine print, by some of the best known gold and silver gurus, including James Turk. They found that what you've got with the ETFs is nothing but another paper promise and that there are backdoor escapes large enough to drive multiple Brinks trucks thru as needed in order to use the supposed allocated silver and gold to lease into and sell into the market to continue to suppress their prices in the event of "non-deliverabili... of the silver or gold!! This was the plan all along--the ETFs were simply another paper alternative to buying the physical...the one thing the anti-gold cartel does NOT want the investing public to do...paper paper paper...they love it b/c they control it.BUY PHYSICAL...BUY IT NOW...BUY IT OFTEN. jt Reply

Costs of exploration and extraction are increasing faster than gold and silver prices. Why buy "hope in a hole" when you can put your money in the real thing in GLD and SLV? ReplyKeeping Metals In May, Not Going Away [view article]
Some stocks are just popular and others aren't. The difference isn't always drill results, either. I don't care (well, I do care). They're all going to rise--maybe this summer. ReplyKeeping Metals In May, Not Going Away [view article]
Compared to pine tree I've been doing really well with my all Jr portfolio. I'm actually up a couple of percent year to date.I'm like the author, I have a full understanding of why my Jrs are undervalued relative to their peers. Reply

I agree too, take a look at Vane Minerals, great entry price and about to rocket on drill finding in Utah. ReplyKeeping Metals In May, Not Going Away [view article]
Actually, I agree. And my portfolio shows the same prejudices as well. ReplyUranium: Red Hot Yellow Cake [view article]
One (small) nuclear power plant generates 1000 megawatts. That would requires 500 windmills. Do you realise how much space that takes? One windmill is pretty; 500 is a different story. And you're an environmentalist? ReplySeven Uranium Stocks to Fuel Your Portfolio [view article]

Are you sure USEG is still a uranium company? I think it might have sold off all of its uranium properties last year. Reply
