  • May 10 Diamond Offshore (DO) contracts to build a new ultra-deepwater drillship for Hyundai Heavy Industries (HYHZF.PK) for ~$655M, bringing to four the number of drillships on order with Hyundai. All drillships now under construction will be equipped with an additional blowout preventer for use as a spare and to improve the reliability of drilling rigs.
